Dog on Duty against Smokey Bear????

I laughed out loud at poor Murphy's attempt to warn me about the danger of approaching the entry of the Kaibab NF Visitor Center ... Murphy is a very quiet dog. Barking almost never No watchdog really .... a lover not a fighter ... The Center was closed and we were the only ones around. I was reading interpretive information and messages on bulletin boards ... Poor Murphy let out a low "woof" that startled me and I was sure there must be another dog about ... She growled and woofed again ... then I saw the reason for her concern: Smokey! She hated being in the proximity of this iconic forest protector .... ok whatever!
