Yesterday was bad; today better

This dog of mine can sometimes be a mirror for my own emotions ... Murphy was pooped and confused and so was I.

Much trouble and time spent changing insurance, getting the title and license, and then arriving at KOA to find office closed and me with no code to the bathroom (remember pay toilets anyone?) .... and of course the RAIN! The Sierras above Yosemite right now have more snow than all of the snow for the past 4 winters combined ... in the Willamette Valley the ground is saturated and the creeks and rivers continue to run high.

Yesterday was our maiden evening in the teardrop and this little camp trailer shrank in volume as the raindrops seemed to be pounding it smaller still. My clothes were wet and my dog was wet and damned if I could find my nightclothes. We managed. Sun came up this morning and blessed Murphy and blessed me and we made a better go of things.

I do anticipate that a theme of sorts will emerge as I blog & blab along. I hope to avoid an exercise in vanity, or to place drama and importance into this drive that Murphy and I are taking. I do feel so very lucky to be going ... going anywhere has always been my preferred state; movement toward whatever mystery or adventure should lie around the bend feels good.

We are sitting along the Kalapuya River just about 5 miles from the hospital where I was born ... and yes there are adventures and nature's joys to be had right here too! As the sun set the sky was adorned with less threatening clouds.

Before going to bed ... something I find the time for comes early ... Murphy and I enjoyed the company and some woodland creatures and wildflowers who defied the pounding rains and announced fearlessly: IT IS SPRING!
